Mădălina and Denisa travel to Delia's Center from rural villages in the most impoverished region of Romania, where access to basic resources is limited. Life has already been difficult for them, and we want to help make it just a little easier.
Mădălina, Age 10
Full of spirit — she loves to dance and sing. She's in foster care with her younger brother, and their foster mother is doing her best with very limited means. Like any girl her age, she wants to wear clothes that are appropriate and clean — clothing that can be changed from one day to the next. But for Mădălina, that isn't always possible. Her village school also requires a uniform, which is difficult to afford.
Denisa, Age 7
Born with a heart condition, Denisa has undergone several surgeries. She also has an intellectual disability, but she is slowly learning and growing at Delia's Center. Because there is no special education teacher, her mother must stay beside her in class. Her father works as a day laborer when he can find work. This past winter was especially hard — without proper warm clothing, getting sick meant a longer treatment and a harder recovery.

15 volunteers from around the world joined The Delia Foundation and Global Impact Homes to bring running water, a shower, solar panels, a toilet, and an indoor kitchen to two elderly people in rural Romania — all in just 3 days.
Stefania Can See Her Future Clearly Again
Stefania is a special needs student whose glasses broke, leaving her unable to see the blackboard. Her dad had abandoned the family, and there was no money for new frames. Thanks to generous donors, Stefania now has brand new glasses — and she's back to learning with a smile.
